Leading Lines

Image
The lines of the counter in the first image directed the attention to the subject which was the flowers. This worked because they both are pointing towards the flowers. I think that this picture came out pretty well in my opinion but to improve it I maybe could have taken the picture from a lower angle. This would have highlighted the subject more clearly and I think the leading lines would've been more clear. I think that the second picture came out much better because the lines that are created from the railing came from the two bottom corners of the picture. This was a skill that we observed in the video to help with leading lines. I think that this one came out the best.

Rule of Thirds

Image
I chose this plant for my topic because it seemed to be a good choice to demonstrate the rule of thirds. After taking a few pictures I realized that this may not be the case. I also think that the background made the pictures look very confusing. Next time I would find a location where the background of the plant is a blank surface and this will probably help the turnout of the picture. In the last picture I was trying to get the plant in the top horizon of the frame but it did not work. In the other two pictures I got the plant to each side of the frame which I think was getting closer to demonstrating the rule of thirds. I was not very happy with the turnout of my pictures. I think I probably should've chosen something else to take my pictures of or found a blank background and by doing this the rule of thirds would have been more obviously demonstrated.

Point of View Assignment

The subject that I chose was a mug that I made in pottery class. I decided to use the mug because I felt as though the different colors and designs on the mug would be interesting to manipulate by the different angles of the camera. I also thought that the shape of the mug would be interesting viewed at different angles because it is detailed in the lip and handle. I chose to keep the first image because it depicted a different view if the mug than one would usually see. This is because when looking at mugs they are usually at level with your face or slightly lower o the table. You are rarely directly above a mug staring down at it to only see the lip and handle. The next picture I chose because from down low at this angle the mug is the highlight of the picture. The light is reflecting off it in a way that shows the glossy aspect of the paint. The last picture I chose was because you can see the inside of the lip of the mug where the two paint colors change. It gives an interesting p…
